Watch out for Djakarta’s new single, “Femme Fatal.”

The singer-songwriter brothers (Raphaël and Tristan Stuart) are putting their spin on the song by Nico and The Velvet Underground, which has been covered over the years by the likes of Duran Duran, R.E.M. and Aloe Blacc, to name a few.  Djakarta’s stripped-down version has an intimate feel.  The acoustic track brings the focus on the lyrics and the vocals.  As the title suggests, the lyrics describe an enticing woman who has the ability to lure people into her world, often hurting those that get involved with her.  Djakarta expresses the lyrics in an honest and soulful way.  The vocals convey truth coming from a place of hurt.  It comes across as a first-hand warning to those who may fall for the woman’s charm.

“Femme Fatale” is the first single the French-Australian siblings’ dropped this year.  In 2022, the pop / folk band released the single “Mirror’s Image” and their 4-song EP, Acoustic EP.
