Carsten Kranzer:  “The Tug of War”

Carsten Kranzer is getting played by mind games on his single “Tug of War.”

The track struggles to find honesty in a relationship.  It’s trying to uncover the truth behind the lies.  Lines like “You say it’s all good, but I know it’s not the truth” give the impression that there is something more to what is actually being said.  Kranzer’s vocals also evoke the skepticism of the lyrics.

The rock song puts instruments on display.  It begins with an emphatic pounding of the drums.   The track has a long instrumental open that doesn’t break until about the one minute mark when the vocals kick in.  That’s where the Montreal native’s descriptive lyrics and vocals shine.
