WE R OK: “Ghosts”

Indie-rock duo WE R OK imagine what it’s like to be a spirit on their debut track, “Ghost.”

Frank Dal Pra and Brian Delaney were both studying Music Industry and Tech when they met at Mercy college in New York City. The two of them hit it off almost immediately and decided to join forces to start their own band. Now the two of them known as WE R OK are ready to show the world what they’ve got.

Their first release, “Ghost” is as catchy as it is wonderfully mysterious. WE R OK managed to bend their upbeat melodies to perfectly match the somber lyrics making for one finely calibrated track. This ambitious tune combines ebullient guitar licks with riveting drumbeats to back up the artists’ resounding vocals. “We just float/Don’t lose hope/Are we dead or alive or are we slippin and slidin?,” Dal Pra and Delaney give us some insight on what it feels like to be caught between life and death. In their attempts to personify an apparition, WE R OK have created a rich metaphorical sonic landscape filled with swirling emotions and laidback rock-inspired beats. We can’t wait to see what’s to come from this duo, but in the meantime, listen to “Ghosts.”
