Vigilantonie is not “Cool” about her recent breakup.
The pop song talks about the struggles a person goes through following a split and how difficult it is to move on. She questions whether the relationship was one-sided or if the other person was just as into her. Not only is it a devastating breakup, but also the end of a friendship.
The honest vocals and lyrics make way for a catchy chorus. The chorus gives a shout-out to Gwen Stefani’s 2004 track with the same title. Vigilantonie explained on TikTok that she was inspired to write the song by the video for Stefani’s “Cool.”
The Melbourne, Australian singer co-wrote and co-produced the track with Barnaby Williams. It is set to be released on Oct. 15 but can currently be pre-saved on Spotify and Apple Music.
