There are certain artists that you never would have guessed were from different countries based on their voice alone. 24-year-old Dutch singer-songwriter, Mart van den Bighelaar, who goes by The Martial, is another mind-blowing case-in-point.

On his latest track “Tell Me Where You Are,” The Martial channels the old-school twang of America’s best country singers. Consider us totally fooled! His soothing vocals and heartwarming lyrics are exceptionally positive and fresh. The multi-instrumentalist has created a melody on this track that stems from classic guitar riffs but has an added factor of bright pop beats. The Martial has reminded us all that sometimes, good old-fashioned storytelling and acoustics is all it takes to make great music.

On “Tell Me Where You Are,” The Martial daydreams about meeting and spending time with the love of his life. “Even though I haven’t seen your face/I know you are out there somewhere waiting for the same,” The Martial opens his heart to his dream lover. Perfectly romantic and genuine, “Tell Me Where You Are” is sure to make your heart melt. Stream the track below, and tell us what you think of it on social media at: @gasmaskmagazine.
