Toucans, ice cream cones, lobsters, and Russian nesting dolls are only a few animals and objects that make an appearance in the new music video for “Do You Really Wanna Know?” by the English indie-rock band, Sea Girls.

Quirky doesn’t even begin to cover what we watched in this video. All we know is that you have this watch it if you want to be instantly transported to a wild wonderworld far, far away from wherever you are. In Sea Girls’s zany vision, reality is a topsy-turvy cosmic landscape full of blinking eyes, an unbelievably large number of sardines, Polaroid cameras that shoot eggs, and the band mates’ floating heads. 

We are totally smitten with the collaged photography and stop-motion animation featured in this video. Every frame could be a separate work of art with its own storyline. Seriously, we would love to see this developed into a full-fledged cartoon series because we need to know the backstory of the boot-wearing octopi trio. 

The track itself is highly addictive with its catchy hook and fun little zingers. The lyrics seem to focus on working through a relationship and confronting a swell of emotions. “You can get into my head or just spend the day in bed,” front man Henry Camamile bemoans as he tries to sort his feelings. To answer the band’s question, yes, we really want to know (when we can hear the rest of the upcoming album)!
