Sam Sherrod sets the romantic mood with his smooth new song, “Smooth Operatin.”
Not too often do I get a whole visualization as soon as a song starts to play, but “Smooth Operatin” has a sensual vibe going on that had me setting the scene before it reached the chorus. To me, this is a song about past loves rekindling the passion that still remains. The silky lyrics contribute to imagery of candles, wine and rose petals. This is the perfect slow dancing, body swaying melody as you’re held in the arms of your lover.
Sam Sherrod may be only twenty-three, but this Nashville-based singer-songwriter has a voice and writes lyrics way beyond his years. His soulful vocals are an engaging mix of R&B, a sprinkle of pop and a whole lot of heartfelt emotion.
