It’s very seldom that we approve cover tracks on Gas Mask since it can be difficult to find a completely unique and vibrant musicality that isn’t copied from the original artist. However, when we heard Sam Ryder’s version of “Set You Free,” we knew we had to cover the story. Sam’s vocals are atmospheric and astronomical—capturing emotion, energy, strength, and purity. His complete unique attitude and approach to this track made his artistry stand out, and had us saying, “DAMN!” about half-way through.
