A group that has style and appeal and knows it. Running Lights have been at it on the road and in the studio for the better half of the decade, really hitting their stride with impressive deals and tours for such humble beginnings.

 ‘Won’t You Stay’ sheds some light on why that might be. They’re great. I’d hope you’ve read enough of my pieces now to just take me at my word and enjoy something new, but you’re a savvy consumer and want more. Okay, fine, but really, you’re wasting time that could be spent looking up/listening to this act yourself.

The track is engaging, and a clear crowd pleaser. Lyrics that don’t need deciphering but still hook you in. There’s no wrangling with the vibe as it’s there and ready for you to ride it, no frills. The beat is infectious, and very easy to get into, but the direct engagement is r3eally what works in the song’s favor.

The charming lyrics made it like a one on one, we, the listener, are the ‘you’ mentioned throughout. Painting a clear picture that still leaves room for imagination, the track wants you to play along, and it’s hard not to.

The vocals here are clear and strong, letting themselves breathe but without dropping the energy. They’re also fun, like the words themselves are smiling. That wink and a nod that says, ‘come on, Won’t You Stay?’

 So… won’t you?
