Self-described Modern Pop Band Rooftop Heroes comes out the gate strong, leaning into this off-the-shelf hit, “Better Than You.”

To most pop acts, there is a forced attitude, a false edge used to push an image, a product all its own. Frontman Mike Lei makes it abundantly clear that they are not your average pop group, belting out the main chorus, ‘better than you’, with absolute certainty. The juxtaposition of fierce vocals with pop/edm backing and stylishly mixed guitar creates a track that rises in intensity, never letting up the pressure. 

This Swiss group offers a great alternative for people tired of the played-out, rubber-stamp pop scene. While other acts may be content to distinguish themselves as ‘the latest’ or ‘newest’, among a long line of interchangeable parts, Rooftop Heroes arrives to proclaim they are the best. Not only that, but “Better Than You.”

Not convinced? Listen and judge for yourself, and don’t be surprised if you find the song isn’t just speaking to the figurative target of their ire and mockery.
