Riley Rex: “Demon”

There are only two reactions to Riley Rex’s new release, “Demon” – you’re either going to be possessed with it or have it exercised from your playlist.

Just from reading the title, I thought this was a song about the inner demons we often struggle with. Instead, it’s actually about someone portrayed as a she-demon trying to conquer the person she’s after. No doubt this song ventures on the dark side.

The lyrics are threading on creepy, for example, “A parasite you can’t exercise. Call a priest but you’ll never survive. I will get you. I’m a demon and I’m crucified.” Behind all these chilling words is an energetic dance beat and hauntingly smooth vocals.

This is Cali-native Riley Rex’s debut single from her upcoming album tentatively titled, Nightmare Lullabies.
