Raquel Kiaraa needs a remedy for her romance. Her latest single “Love Got Me Sick,” expresses feelings of confusion as emotions are being toyed with in a relationship.

The track starts off slow and seductive then turns into an anthemic dance track at the chorus.  Kiaraa’s soulful tone brings life to the reflective lyrics.  The track also puts the Canadian singer-songwriter’s impressive vocal range on display.

In the recently released video for “Love Got Me Sick,” Kiaraa dons a snake (reminiscent of Britney Spears’ 2001 MTV VMA “I’m a Slave 4 U” performance) while being trapped in a cage.  She explained the symbolism to Exclaim saying, “The idea of the snake imagery came from the meaning behind snakes appearing in your life or your bed: to see snakes in your bed indicates that your unconscious mind is worried about a relationship.”  As for the cage, she said, “The scene in the cage was about being trapped in your mind, hearing all those little voices; the madness of love.”

Kiarra joined the music industry at what some may consider late in the game.  She started singing and playing the piano at age 32, but with early success has proven she’s belonged all along.  “Love Got Me Sick” is a track off her aptly titled new album Defying Odds.
