P. Muna: “New Religion”

P. Muna speaks his personal truth.

“New Religion” speaks to the personal journey we all go through, relating his personal triumphs, doubts, experiences as the pages trials and tribulations in his own gospel. He makes no illusions to his being a perfect being, of being flawless, sinless. Instead, these very flaws, these sins, these imperfections, are what distinguish him, what define him, and what guide his path forward.

His vocal performance here is one of the strongest elements, as it allows us to appreciate his lyrics. Hip-hop and Rap have always been the space for poetic expression, and the verse here is crisp. There’s no room for doubt, for the meaning or implication of his words. He’s preaching what he practices. The truth, his truth.
