Hooks abound in this hauntingly catchy single from Overstreet. “On the Way” has all the makings of the next big indie hit.
The low key guitar that opens “On the Way” does a lot with relatively little. By using the guitar as a rhythmic instrument, Overstreet opens up much of the sonic space on this single. The aesthetic of the song is almost dark, perfect for late night jams and glossy, neo noir movie soundtracks. An expert interjection of vibey synths take this song to the next level, delivering some of the best alternative rock we’ve heard. One thing is for sure: we can’t get enough of it in the Gas Mask HQ.
