Oskar La Barre & Palo G: “Everybody”

Brighton-based producer Oskar La Barre and Spanish rapper Palo G want us to shake, rattle, and roll on their new collaborative track, “Everybody.”

The British electronic producer is known for his bright and funky remixes which often blend airy synths with snapping beats that perfectly wrap around the voices of female powerhouse vocalists like Aluna George and Brandy. Palo G a.k.a. the Spanish “gentlewoman” typically layers her androgynous rap flow over old school R&B-inspired melodies. La Barre and Palo G turn out to make one stellar musical duo, combining their forces to create just the right kind of pulsing summertime jam we could all use right now.

On “Everybody” La Barre builds a beat full of bumping bongos and bouncing synths. We can imagine ourselves dancing the night away to this song on a far-off Mediterranean island. Palo G switches back and forth between singing and rapping while schooling us all on how to look at the bright side. Right before dipping into the chorus, Palo G clears away our cloudy mood when she confidently sings, “the sunshine’s gonna come back.” We believe her and we think you will too after just one play of this song. Trust us, you’ll be listening to this irresistible jam for the rest of the summer, and you’ll thank us later.
