New Arcades grace us with a wonderfully soulful new single in ‘Yours’, featuring the amazing vocal works of guest artist Sarah Bird. 

Retro-pop is a genre that often drifts into the boring realm of outright covers or stale sampling. Rarely do you find artists who manage to capture the sound of an era while maintaining their individual style and integrity. There is an artful blend of keyboard, synth, and stripped-down guitar that lets the passionate vocals really show through. Slight reverb draws out the raw emotion of the vocal performances and enhances the poetic lyrics. It has a contemplative effect as well, and really put us into a thinking mood, as opposed to the majority of pop that is auditory distraction. There is a forlorn yet beautiful quality to the song. Two distant lovers laying out the world as it is, trying to let the other know that everything will be okay. Maybe. If we believe, if we try.
