Right off the top, I love this man’s voice. It’s tender with natural waver and pinch. He’s able to hit the higher end of his register in soft vocal flares that tremble with barely restrained passion.
I got major retro vibes from this track, ala Men At Work. For you younger kids google the name and you’ll get what I mean. That non-traditional, experimental approach to his unique voice, his unique sound, captured my attention.
On the verge of crying but without the vulnerability, Neil Friedlander’s voice is the star of the show here, the instrumentals just helping to lift it up above the crowded music scene. I’ll be keeping an eye out for this artist, and I can’t wait to experience his amazing voice in person. Stream it below, and tell us what you think of it on social media at: @gasmaskmagazine.
