Moose: “As Advertised”

Indie, oh so indie. Unafraid of perception, daring in its experimentation, and distinct, very distinct. Lo-fi, plodding, grinning, with keyboard keys held a moment too long, or tapped ever so slightly, and guitar strings plucked and strummed seemingly without care.

Moose has something special going for itself. There’s a lot of talk about the various scenes, both traditional and nontraditional, up front and backstage, etc, and their quintisential ‘sound’ or ‘feel.’ “As Advertised” goes more towards the conversational than the narrative. In doing so, it carves its own musical path forward, with an unorthodox lyricism that veers towards the spoken word. This was a unique treat that I’m sure will offer listeners something to mull over and pursue.
