Lukas Ferdinand: “Sleep Under Her Eyes” (Live)

Having grown up in a home constantly abuzz with the soundtracks of the 60’s and 70’s, with plenty of rock, blues and folk in the mix, I often bemoan the state of music. It’s standout acts like Lukas Ferdinand that give me hope.

The folk singer/songwriter impresses with his wide vocal range. Managing the transition between impassioned higher register and lower, almost morose tones, Lukas Ferdinand puts in the work. The instrumental backing on this track is just as integral as the vocal performance. Without the restrained, bluesy guitar, without the rhythmic tap and beat of the drum, without the almost hidden piano, the soul of this track would fall apart. Composed of irreplaceable parts, with a unique voice, and well-written lyrics, ‘Sleep Under Her Eyes’ is a must-hear experience. Don’t miss out!
