Lucy Clearwater: “Insecurities”

Lucy Clearwater has a simply angelic voice. The Folk Singer/Songwriter offers up a beautiful, contemplated track in “Insecurities.”

The lyrics read like they’re being told in confidence, an admission, an unburdening. What really underscores the emotion of the words is the, again, angelic vocal performance on display here. So warm and bright, soft yet not overly so. Even when she draws out the power and timber she is capable of, it is so even-toned and steady that it doesn’t register as a departure from her ability.

An ode to self-affirmation, to the cooperation in a relationship, the fulfillment of having a partner in life, someone to make you whole and bring out the best in you. Damn I have something in my eye… anyways, don’t miss out on this great song. I need to go dry my eyes real quick, enjoy. Stream the track below, and tell us what you think of it on social media at: @gasmaskmagazine.
