Singer-songwriter, producer, photographer, and Philadelphia-native Kid Travis has us daydreaming about sunsets and long summer nights with his latest EP, “Strawberry Skies.”

The multi-talented artist started teaching himself to play a variety of instruments without know how to read sheet music by age 11. The naturally gifted musician was raised by a choir director and a singer who encouraged him to keep developing in his skills. By 15 years old, Travis could play guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums but after his first solo performance he realized that his favorite instrument was his own voice. Travis eventually taught himself to produce his own melodies to match his stunning vocals, drawing inspiration from modern R&B artists like Miguel and Frank Ocean with some 80’s synth stylistic influence courtesy of The Weeknd.

“Strawberry Skies” perfectly encapsulates all of Travis’s muses, but with his own distinctive groovy flair. With a silky meets smoky voice that glides across his percussion-soaked melody, Travis sings about a love so deep it transcends the everyday. “We’re gone with the wind/Hair in your face/Put my hand on your waist/Strawberry skies all on your lips/Cauze I love how it tastes,” the singer’s sweet and sultry chorus makes us swoon. Blending R&B vocal elements, alt-rock guitar riffs, and retro synths, Travis has created a modern-day love song that puts the best of each genre on full display. Now the only thing left on our minds is “Strawberry Skies” forever…
