This song hits very close to home. “Things I never Said” by Jordy revived the long dead butterflies in my stomach from high-school and I’m smitten.
Putting into words the emotions that clouded our judgement and guided our nervous, searching hands and lips during our adolescence, this track has the added effect of nostalgia. Jordy’s alternating between dreamy, sultry bridges slowed down just enough to draw out the emotion, and the frantic, high-pitched, rapid-fire stanzas of worried omissions created a solid pace in narrative and musicality. The pop-mix and beat here is also very effective, well-produced to support the unique vocal work on display.
This song took me back to the awkward pauses with the various special-someones of my high-school years, the stolen glances, the admissions of teen-age ‘like-like’ that seemed like the end of the world. It was fun to listen to, and fun to relive. Take your own stroll down clumsy romance road today and listen in! THEN, be sure to tell us what you think on social media at: @gasmaskmagazine.
