Florida-native Jake Miller opens up about mental health and finding a lifeline in love on his latest single, “SAVED ME.”

The 27-year-old singer, songwriter, and occasional rapper’s career began in high school when his YouTube videos started catching attention from fans and music blogs alike. He scored a record deal, released a series of EPs, and opened for numerous notable artists from Snoop Dogg to Fifth Harmony. Miller’s genre-bending music cannot be pinned down which makes him a force to be reckoned with. He’s made pulsing party anthems, moving ballads complete with piano and breathy vocals, and uplifting love songs which fuse rapping and singing. “SAVED ME” is a prime example of Miller’s patchwork style, combining deftly produced beats with introspective lyricism.

On this track, Miller uses beautiful metaphorical imagery to express how one relationship saved him from hitting rock bottom. “Drank a lot, smoked a lot/Long nights I didn’t sleep a lot/Told my friends I’m too busy for love,” Miller raps, confessing to the soul crippling lifestyle choices of his past. Just when he was beginning to unravel and sink, he found someone to help him rise and become a better man. “SAVED ME,” is Jake Miller’s most raw and emotionally complex track to date and truly represents his evolution as an artist. If you could use a spark of hope in these dark and uncertain times, Jake Miller’s “SAVED ME” will remind you that love always finds a way to shine through the cracks.
