Singer-songwriter and instrumentalist Ian Jones releases his poignant new single, “Evergreens.” It’s an easy listening, old school country song with a retro vibe, reminiscent to the ‘70s. The musical stylings of John Denver and James Taylor immediately came to mind.
I found the guitar-based melody to be soothing and sentimental. You can hear it in his voice and in the poetic lyrics that Ian Jones is a natural storyteller. His voice is soulful and authentic. With an autumn feel and shoutout to September near the end, this is a perfect song for the season.
The inspiration for writing “Evergreens” was when the Washington native moved from Seattle to Los Angles to pursue him music dream. It’s a song of solace for those who left what they knew to explore the world but are missing the friends they left behind. Ian Jones is currently back to his hometown and reflecting on the past to create meaningful songs with lyrics heavy on depth and relatable emotions.
Ian Jones’ upcoming EP, The Evergreens, is set to be released October 22nd. The EP will lead the way to the full length album at a future date TBD.
