“Shoulda Never Left Boston” is an upbeat reminder of the sober realities of dream chasing. 

The new single from Hendri and Classy Williams is an honest portrayal of life in LA and the struggles of trying to make it. Despite its theme, it has a jazzy and uplifting sound that’s perfect for an early Saturday morning. 

Hendri’s soulful vocals masterfully balance the track’s upbeat tone and authentic, vulnerable lyrics. Although the instrumentation alone could put a smile on your face, we connect with her vocal performance on a deeper level. Through her clear, controlled tone we can hear (and feel) Hendri’s honesty as she explores painful and harsh realities. Like the city of Los Angeles, the track is the perfect juxtaposition of hope and heartbreak. 

Hendri is the moniker for singer-songwriter Lauren Gerrish. She teamed up with producer and fellow east coast transplant Classy Williams for this new track. With an effortless sound and heartfelt performance, we hope there’s more to come from Hendri in 2021!
