Gold Coast-based indie-electronic duo Golding have given us the perfect spirit-lifting anthem to make isolation feel a little less lonely with their latest single, “Alone. Together.”

Jay Bainbridge and Matt Bartlem have been friends for over 15 years, writing and jam sessions over the course of that time. In 2019, the Australian musicians formed their band and released their first dazzling dance track. After taking a year off to fine-tune their sound, Golding is back and ready to show the world that their brand new, groovy take on indie-pop.

Sun-soaked synths and snappy drumbeats lay the perfect foundation for the duo to switch between monotonic rumbling and more melodic vocals. Over the past few months, artists have been releasing quarantine-inspired bops, but none of them have had us swinging and swaying quite like “Alone.Together.” Golding’s laid-back groove encourages us to take a moment to embrace the bright side with its happy-go-luck lyrics and carefree vibe. “What’s mine is yours and yours is mine/We don’t have anything but time, so dance,” Golding convinces us to wash our anxieties away and take a moment to stop focusing on what we can’t do, and instead do what we can.

Whether you’re partying with your fellow quarantine buddies or dancing with your cat, “Alone.Together.” is the perfect soundtrack to add some spunk to your new normal. Happy listening everyone!
