Gritty, oh so gritty. Chaotic, full of static and distortion, a heavy beat like dropped bass drums. This is a dirty sound, and we canโt get enough of it!
Out of the gate, Elais Park hits us with some solid verse without lapsing into genre cliches and lyrical filler. The ad hoc/homemade look of the video for โBeen Busyโ definitely adds to this atmosphere of disorder. This being said, the verse here is the main attraction. Park doesnโt mince words, and while braggadocio is nothing new to the genre, the self-assuredness with an element of apathetic nonchalance is an interesting element. Utilizing effective vocal distortion and a simple, stripped down beat that is likewise ragged and punkish in attitude, this song is a quick and easy but grimy listen.
Definitely something worthwhile in a field full of either pop-influenced radio-jams or soulless materialistic English corridos on wealth and violence. Join the throwback with โBeen Busy!โ Stream the track below, and be sure to tell us what you think on social media at: @gasmaskmagazine.
