It’s no secret that we have an overabundance of aspiring performers, each with their own merits, but it isn’t unfair to say the field can feel crowded. Separating talent from the chaff can be arduous. We’re happy to say that “Close” is a standout in the genre. A stylish track showing the more emotionally vulnerable side of a typically bold and brash artist, we were floored by this banger of a song. Making excellent use of clean vocals and a well-produced backing mix, Duchess gives us a dynamic experience. One visit to the artist’s social media and you know that they mean business, wielding their sex appeal and sheer talent to great effect.
