While more often than not Iβm reviewing artists at the beginning of their careers, fighting for their place of the market and striking out to make their dent in their genre, I welcome opportunities to experience practiced masters as well.
Dezabel has been working at the music industry game since the 90βs. A producer and songwriter, he has put his decades of experience and wealth of knowledge to work and created a unique sound. While it might be easy to dismiss the talent and artistry of someone so deeply involved with the industry, Dezabelβs latest track, βFever In The Nightβ speaks for itself. The beat, the mix, the lyrics, all working together in concert, no empty space or awkward compositions vying for influence and prominence. Everything is in balance.
Driven by bright, polished vocals that invite you in and hold you close and warm, the song gave me chills. Expert wordplay that keeps the choruses from feeling repetitive or flat, the vocal talent on display is another clear sign of the experienced, practiced hand at work.
Sultry, seductive, easy to listen to, never boring. The word master may be a bit too on the nose for some people, but for a track and artist that so easily engages you, with well-crafted appeal and musicality, thereβs no other way to describe it other than masterful.
