Jazz music has been slowly making its way back into mainstream and Chris Walton is doing just that with his uplifting song “See it Through”. With great piano work, steady snares, and meaningful lyrics, you can’t help but smile at its purity.
The song warmly invites you to join Walton with a solo Jazz piano. You stay along for the ride as his smooth voice levels with listeners on the complexities of life and the importance of looking at the world as a glass half full. I couldn’t help but see the similarities it has with Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come” as they both deliver a message of hope that we so desperately need in these times. I praise Walton for incorporating so many Jazz elements to this song. It’s not common to hear a newly released Jazz song that doesn’t have heavy influences of today’s music trends, and Walton staying true to that makes the song worth listening to.
Although a small artist right now, Chris Walton shows immense potential of blowing up to a wider audience. “See It Through” is just a small glimpse of what he has in store for us in the future.
