Bay Area rap stars-on-the rise Chow Mane and ALLBLACK have collaborated on a new track called “SILK ROAD” that proves the West Coast rap game is still going strong.
Chow Mane has established a rapport as an experimental rapper and producer who isn’t afraid to throw in some unconventional beats and a hint of sarcasm into his gritty tracks. Oakland rapper ALLBLACK has been freestyling since he was 15, but it wasn’t until 2017 when he began recording some of his tracks in the studio that he started getting calls from major artists and producers like G-Eazy and Kenny Beats. Combining forces, these two talented artists have given us a fresh new banger that we’re definitely adding to our summer rotation.
On “SILK ROAD,” Mane lays down a nostalgic, bouncing bassline that mixes the best of 90’s hip-hop with modern trap into one infectious beat. The artist infuses a bit of a political edge into this track, rapping about racism and other socio-cultural issues at warp speed. ALLBLACK swings in towards the end of the track to lay down some bold and clever bars, wrapping up the song with a bang. Confidence and charisma ooze from both artists as they show off their distinctive vocal styles against a deftly produced, percussion-soaked beat. Each artist adds a bit of their own flair to this track which gives it that extra edge of raw energy. With “SILK ROAD,” Chow Mane and ALLBLACK have shown us that they’ve got the skill, the spirit, and the attitude to become the West Coast’s next great rappers.
