Manila-born singer-songwriter Cap Carter pores out his heart and soul in the newly released single, “Gold.”

Cap Carter first wrote “Gold” about the breakdown of his parent’s marriage, but then it became even more personal when his own marriage fell apart in the same manner. He tells this story with an honest, authentic voice. His vocals are distinctive and gritty.

“Gold” is sung with so much intensity and raw emotional that you can literally feel each word. This song, particularly Cap Carter’s delivery of it, stirred up an unexpected emotional response in me as each lyric pulled me in. Even if your story is different than the one being sung, the pain will resonate the same. Music is such a powerful artform, as demonstrated in this compelling track.
