Tallahassee natives Brightside are pop culture heroes. Self-starters with hearts of gold, they’ve come a long way from their debut EP Heart Science and are now giving back to the scene and their communities. I know what you’re thinking, you’re here for music reviews. Well damn I just thought you’d want to know how awesome these guys are. Okay, now the music.

Their newest release, “HAD2” is a chill Dance Pop track that hearkens back to the dance-floor hits of our parent’s era. Layered harmonies and clever, subtle keyboard work give this fun jam an easy vibe that you can really get into. The instrumentals here are applied to just tantalize, a strum here, soft beat of the drum there, the real star of the show are the vocals.

Taking advantage of the retro-vibe of the backing instrumentals, Connor Holcombe keeps his voice at just above a stage whisper, imparting an intimate secret to the listener. Joining in, Jake Long adds that extra kick of energy with the ‘Millennial Whop’ chorus styling.

A great listen from a great band that does great work, be sure to not miss this great track! Stream it below, and tell us what you think of it on social media at: @gasmaskmagazine.
