Andreas Moe won’t “Fade Into Darkness” with his acoustic version of Avicii’s popular song.
What many people might not know is that Moe is actually the voice that is heard on the late Swedish DJ’s track. In honor of the hit song’s ten year anniversary, he decided to release his “Acoustic Version.” The beautiful cover is a much more subdued adaption of the progressive house track.
This edition of the song puts more emphasis on Moe’s haunting vocals. In doing so, his emotional connection to the lyrics is more noticeably heard. The Swedish singer was quoted about the importance of the track saying, “Ican’tbelieve it’s been 10 years already since this song was released… It’s a song that still – to this day – means so much to me. He added, “To help increase awareness and try to break the stigma around mental health, I’ve recorded this acoustic version. Take care of yourself & each other.”
The sentiment hits home to those who know about Avicii, who committed suicide in 2018 at the age of 28 after battling mental illness. Moe first performed the acoustic version of “Fade Into Darkness” nearly two years ago at an Avicii tribute concert.
