The optimism and impulsiveness of youth; the self-awareness and thoughtfulness that comes with maturity. These two separate aspects of a person, of their growth, are typically captured as just that; separate. For singer/songwriter Alex Di Leo, youth and maturity are fleeting grains of sand slipping through our fingers as we stumble, fall, rise, and soar through life. 

“Youth”, a spellbinding single from the sophomore artist, familiar to festival and college radio audiences around the country, is a deft expression of this philosophy. A layered musical texture rolls over us as Alex Di Leo lays out the confusing, contradicting paths that make up our lives. These catchy and melodic musings are punctuated by reverb-heavy calls to youth, that fleeting period of life that feels as though it has no end till it does. The soft instrumentals of simple guitars and mixing board structure a rolling wave of sound that surrounds a lyrical expression of uncertainty and excitement.
