Synthpop has plenty of contenders and pretenders, but we’re here to tell you we’ve found the real thing. 19&You grace us with their fresh-out-the-studio release, “Runnin” and we can’t wait till its runnin’ through your head.
The vocals on this track are well mixed with the synth work, letting us appreciate the talent of the singer without overpowering or oversaturating any in-studio effects. Where some groups try and pace out their track with more synth and distortion, 19&You finds an excellent balance. Taking inspiration from bigger acts like The 1975, they include some simple but polished guitar work towards the end. The instrumentals in this song are there to bring out the full effect of this group’s unique sound, and it just works.
We work hard to bring new and exciting acts to the forefront, and we hope you enjoy this latest discovery! Tell us what you think today: @gasmaskmagazine.
