NEEKOH: “Falling”

If there’s one thing we love at Gas Mask, it’s the tenacious vulnerability that comes with the defining artistry in talented individuals. “Falling” by Neekoh is just that.

Concocted with a haze of iridescence, and a sparkle of mischief, “Falling” was released by the Finnish singer/songwriter on August 14th. The pop tune pulls us in from the get-go with a polished-to-perfection beat and methodical drum line to keep the listener on their toes. The vocals almost have an indie-vibe to them, giving the listener a unique perspective of the soundscape for a pop tune.

We caught up with Neekoh about the inspiration behind the track, and this is what he had to say: “The song is about hopelessly falling in love with a stranger. The strange phenomenon where you feel entirely drunk on someone you don’t even know, which is terrifyingly beautiful. I had to take my chances and leave my home country and everything I knew behind to follow my heart. And you know, it’s a damn long way from Finland to New Zealand.”
