“The Feeling’s Mutual” that Emmrose’s single is worth a listen.
The indie pop song has relatable and emotionally stirring lyrics with powerful music to match. Emmrose said she “wrote it about toxic friendships, and I found it really cathartic to write!” It’s about an experience that many people have gone through, when a friend tears you down instead of lifting you up. Emmrose’s vocals add to the sensitivity of the song. Her soulful voice captivates the listener and evokes the feeling of hurt described in the lyrics.
The NYC native may be at the edge of her teenage years, but her voice and artistry defy her age. She was very much involved in the making of the song. She performed, composed and lyricized “The Feeling’s Mutual.” She penned the lyrics just after the demise of a once-close friendship. Behind the Curtains Media quotes her as saying, “‘The Feeling’s Mutual’ wasn’t a difficult song to write, I remember really getting the whole thing down in a couple of days.”
